Pre School

Mission Statement

To provide an enviroment where children can :- SMILE

We will undertake this by:

Providing high quality care and education for children primarily below statutory school age.
Working in partnership with parents/carers to help the children learn and develop.
Adding to the life and well- being of our local community.
Offering children and their parents a service which promotes equality and values diversity.

St Thomas More Pre- School is Ofsted registered. It is open term time only providing sessional education for the childen from two and a half up until they start school. When the child is three they will receive upto 15 hours free from the government. We follow the national curiculum where children learn through play, planning in response to the childrens interests and needs.
Each child will receive a key worker who works closely with the child and their parents / carers.

The last Ofsted report shows that we are good in all areas, also receiving an outstanding in the area of the settings engagement with parents. (10/03/2011)

The Ofsted statement writes

"The partnership with parents is outstanding. Children benefit from effective partnership working between the staff and their parents."

"The setting promotes the unique needs of each child and supports their welfare and learning."

"Children show they feel safe within the setting. They are happy, settled and secure because staff provide close care, are attentive and respond swiftly to their needs."
