Catholic Parish

Mother Teresa Group

Dee Avery & Jenny Lingham
Our group has existed for about 30 years. We meet in the Church Porch on the first Wednesday of the month from 2.30pm. We have about 20 members. It is a group that is open to all members of our Parish and has very much a spiritual based centre for what we do. We follow the teachings of Mother Teresa and our aim is to help those less fortunate than ourselves. The only money that we generate is a donation of £1 per person per meeting, this goes to a third world country to provide the education of a child.

THE OTHER AREAS WHERE WE PROVIDE HELP ARE:

MATT TALBOT DAY: Matt Talbot day in May, providing 200 sandwiches for the London homeless visiting Aylesford Priory for the day.

CHRISTMAS PARCELS: At Christmas, providing about 100 parcels for a local day centre and also London’s homeless.

CHRISTMAS SHOE BOXES: At Christmas, providing shoe boxes which we fill with suitable gifts for third world children.

KNITTED BLANKETS: We have members who provide knitted blankets for third world orphanages and hospitals.

THE PILSDON COMMUNITY: We collect tins & non-perishable goods for the Pilsdon Community food bank at all our meetings. This helps the support of 15 families.

CHURCH SERVICES: In the Church we have services at Lent and Advent.

In addition to the above we have soup lunches where we have bring & buy stalls to help boost our funds towards our parcels & shoe box appeals.

We are always happy to welcome new members.
